My early career was quite varied beginning with working for a local authority in South Wales, where I dealt mainly with Right to Buy. I spent some years with British Airways working my way through to a position as Trainer before leaving to start a family. Over a period of time while my children were young, my roles varied from sales support/admin to livery yard hand and even wedding make-up artist.
I took on prominent roles within voluntary groups, becoming the chairwoman of the large primary school PTA for some years before we left Berkshire. Like many people, we couldn't wait for an opportunity to move to the West Country and we did that in 2002, when we were lucky enough to acquire a building plot in the lovely village of Thorncombe (West Dorset) and carried out a "self-build", where we remain very happily.
It was in 2003 that Estate Agency grabbed me and I realised that I had found my perfect role. I went quickly from part time to full time and began working for myself about 3 years later.

Services
We are dedicated Licensed Estate Agents with many years industry experience - over 60 years between us!
We mainly cover East Devon and West Dorset but occasionally outside these areas if required.
Our office is based in Colyton and we are a small but mighty team of ladies.
This happened by coincidence rather than design however we have found it gives us a compassionate edge over some other agents; something that can be invaluable throughout the buying and selling process.
We have a passion for property combined with traditional values of service, with an emphasis on excellent communication.

Our Coastal Service offers bespoke marketing for unique Coastal Properties along the Jurassic coast, with a particular focus on Lyme Regis and Charmouth.
We have seen a surge of interest in these areas over the past few years and even more so recently.
We are frequently contacted by out of area buyers, eager to find their new coastal home, many of them cash buyers with budgets in the region of 500,000 to 1.5M - the demand is clear.
As a result, we have launched the G&R Coastal Department lead by Susan Rumsby.

A most surprising period property with parking and garden situated on the edge of the town within a short walk of shops and cafes.
The house has Georgian origins and has been extended under the current ownership to provide generous family accommodation.
The property has many lovely period features and even the modern extension is delightfully quirky.
From the top down, the house has three double bedrooms, a large family bathroom, a shower room and a good landing area, large living room with a beautiful original fireplace, good entrance hall, large irregular shaped kitchen/dining/living room and a utility room.

An absolutely delightful cottage that has been finished and presented to a very high standard under the current ownership.
When the owners bought the property, it had been let for many years and was in need of a good overhaul.
As a result the new owners had a large project on their hands.
All ceilings and walls had to be replastered, some roof work was carried out and chimneys were lined before any cosmetic work began.
Kitchen and bathroom were both replaced and new multi-fuel stoves were fitted.
