Rennie and Company is a privately owned, independent business and is now one of Hertfordshire's longest established estate agency practices. The firm was founded in 1955 by Jim Rennie who was a very popular, well-known figure in Watford throughout his life until he passed away in 2010. In 1994 Brian Handley took over the company whereby he built and developed the residential sales and lettings business, establishing a reputation as one of the most respected estate agency firms in the area.
The founding partner retired in 1996 and in 2008, Stephen Kirsch joined as partner whereby the business went from strength to strength. Having established a reputation as one of the leading firms in Watford, Rennie and Company also became known for its specialist experience in selling the finer homes in Watford. Our original founder was the sole Land Agent in the 1950's selling what were the empty individual plots to the first buyers of the ever popular Cassiobury Estate.
In the decades since those times, we have always been the first choice for vendors of those areas to call.

Services
Unfortunately, our estate agents were a complete shambles and could never get a straightforward answer.
It came towards the end of the selling & buying process, when our estate agents refused to contact us regarding a few questions we needed answering.
This resulted in delaying the moving process and holding up the chain.
Stephen and his amazing team stepped in and intervened, as our estate agents were making our lives a misery and prolonging things.
We wish we had come across Rennie & Co from the moment we started thinking about moving as they are extremely helpful and make sure you are kept in the loop.

There are, of course, many considerations to bear in mind when it is comes to selling what is probably your largest financial asset.
Should I sell or find first?
Which agent should I instruct?
How much should I ask for my property?
How should I present my property to achieve the best possible price?
All relevant questions with many answers, therefore the following is a brief outline of our recommendations.
This is a question commonly asked of estate agents.
Our advice remains almost constant - find a buyer before finding the house of your dreams.

As a rule, renting a property is a much simpler than buying a home.
However, whatever your reasons for choosing to rent, it makes sense to ensure that you get the best advice from the outset so that you can be entirely satisfied with the property you choose as it will become your 'home'.
If you take the right steps to renting then there should be no reason that this shouldn't be possible.
Whatever Letting Agent you choose to rent through their responsibility is to the Landlord, their client.
However, at Rennie and Company we take very seriously our obligation as a duty of care to our tenants.
